Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, and Beverley J. Oda, Minister of International Cooperation, announced Canada’s new engagement in Afghanistan that will build on significant progress in the areas of security, diplomacy, human rights and development. This article explains in detail the actions being taken including the locations and objectives of our troops.
This is a really interesting article. As a country, we are worldly viewed as being nice, friendly people. Even though our world repore is being upheld in our accomplishments in Afghanistan, the price our solidiers have to pay is one that we as Canadians should not allow. No matter how much good Canadian soliders do over seas, the price of freedom for the Afghan people will not come quickly or easily. Why should Canadians have to pay the price for their freedom?
ReplyDeleteThis is a very good point, that I agree with in several aspects. However on a more worldly basis we should be working together to solve some of the greater issues throughall all countries for the overall well being of our global society.
